Diwali is my favorite festival, often known as the festival of lights. It represents the victory of light over darkness and good over evil. Every year, I celebrate this festival with great enthusiasm and joy along with my family and friends.
My Preparations
A few days before the festival, we begin cleaning our house. I remember helping my mother clean the rooms and decorate the entrance with colorful floral rangoli. We also buy new clothes, sweets, and decorative items like clay lamps (diyas) and electric lights to brighten up our home.
The Day of Celebration
On the day of Diwali, everyone wakes up early. We dress in new traditional attire. In the evening, the entire house sparkles with the glow of diyas. We perform Lakshmi Puja as a family, praying for prosperity and happiness. After the rituals, we enjoy a delicious feast that includes various sweets and snacks.
Spreading Happiness
My favorite part of the celebration is meeting friends and exchanging gifts. We emphasize a green and safe Diwali by avoiding loud crackers, which cause air and noise pollution. Instead, we spend quality time together, lighting sparkles and sharing stories.
Overall, Diwali is not just about lights and fireworks; it is a time for togetherness, spreading kindness, and finding joy in the small moments of life. Celebrating it with my loved ones creates memories that I cherish throughout the year.
